Welcome to Newhaven Coastguard Website.

Newhaven is a search and cliff rescue team of eleven volunteers available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,  who respond immediately to maritime and cliff incidents.

 In an emergency, the teams are tasked by means of pagers direct from Solent Coastguard, and can be at scene of an incident anywhere within their area of responsibility within minutes.

Newhaven Coastguard operational area is from Brighton Marina to the River Cuckmere. 

The team will often assist the flank stations at Shoreham and Birling Gap. We can be tasked inland to help with flooding and cliff rescues. 

We work closely with Newhaven and Brighton Lifeboats as well as the local emergency services. 

Other resources available to us are Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 104 from Lee-On-Solent, RAF Rescue Helicopter 125 from RAF Wattisham and the Sussex police Helicopter.
